“A staircase in Robert Venturi’s Vanna Venturi House in Philadelphia, leading nowhere, was a starting point for this project.”
Petra Lilja was looking at archetypes as a method of design and has honed in specifically on the form of steps and stairs for this furniture collection. With the symbolism of steps as inspiration, Petra Lilja ignored their function altogether and instead experimented with their archetypal image for a cabinet, a stool, a coffee table, a floor lamp and several smaller accessories. The Steps Portal Mirrors and Round Mirrors are produced in limited edition and sold by Props by Kampmann, Stockholm.
